GOOD VIBRATIONS
a workshop in voice care for educators
with speech pathologist
Debbie Phyland
The voice is a powerful and emotive tool and an essential component in communication. When we lose our voice, we feel vulnerable and disempowered and even subtle changes in voice quality and control can change our overall vocal performance. Understanding how to protect our voice and how to produce sound efficiently is therefore critical for optimal vocal performance.
In this presentation, speech pathologist Debbie Phyland will review the anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract and provide current information on vocal health. Signs and symptoms of vocal problems and suggestions for managing these issues will be provided. Opportunities for joint trouble-shooting regarding tricky students will also be given so bring along both your bag of tricks and your longstanding curly questions!
Date: Tuesday 17 March 2009
